EARTHEN: Creative Talisman Workshop with Melisa

Join us for a 2 session ceramics hand building workshop about body wisdom, magical realism, and working with the Earth!

Earthen is an ongoing exploration series about working with clay as a living element. In this small group workshop, we will have conversations about what creativity means to us, symbolism, talismans, and all things related to our imaginations. We will also practice how intutive movement and breath can connect to our creative process as we shape clay.

The first session on October 10 will focus on pottery hand building techniques, engaging the imagination to create your personal talisman.

The second session on October 17 will be all about playing with colour and glaze techniques to bring your talisman to life.

Materials, glaze, and firing are included. No previous pottery experience neccessary, all levels are welcome! Your ticket includes both workshop sessions at The People's Studio.

This workshop is a fundraiser for communities affected by the devastating 7.4 Earthquake in Colombia on August 10 2026. All proceeds will be donated to Colombian grassroots organizations supporting community kitchens & rebuilding housing in Chocó & its' rural regions.

Venue Accessibility: The studio is on the ground level. An accessible washroom is available onsite. Please be aware that the venue does not have automatic doors. If you require assistance entering the space of have spacific accessibility needs, please contact the organizer in advance.
