Hello! My name is Zwena Gray, I also go by Z.

I was born and raised in Detroit, and since then, I have called many places home. I find wealth in time with family, moments of stillness outside, and home-cooked meals.

In the revolution, I see myself as someone who brings people together, someone who creates and holds spaces for advocacy, disruption, and collective transformation.

For me, Queer Ecology is the art of noticing. It invites us to ask questions, and then to follow those questions as they bloom into many more. Queer ecology has been a tool for unwinding colonial ways of thinking within both the ecosystems of the world and the ecosystems of our minds. It is a practice of attention, relationship, and re-imagining how we belong to the earth and to each other.
